    Hurricane season is here. Be prepared.

    June 1 marks the start of the 2017 hurricane season, although the season officially started in April when Tropical Storm Arlene formed over the north Atlantic. This is the third consecutive year that a storm has formed before the official start of hurricane season. Tropical Storm Ana formed in May 2015 and Hurricane Alex formed in January 2016.

    “It is impossible to precisely predict where storms will form or hit, so it is important that everyone prepares,” said Harris County Judge Ed Emmett. “It only takes one storm to make it a bad year, regardless of the number of storms that are forecast.” (More …)

    Check your information in SJC AlertMe 

    Alert Me iconHurricane season is here, so now is a great time to check your contact information in SJC AlertMe.

    To do so, employees and students should log in to SOS to either sign up for, or edit your SJC AlertMe information. Once you are logged in, click on the red SJC AlertMe tab.

    SJC AlertMe is now available to the general public. Employees and students must sign up and update their information through SOS, but family, friends, partners, and community members may now sign up to receive SJC AlertMe notifications. A link to sign up can be found online at http://www.sanjac.edu/alert-me.

    Information about any active storms can be found on the National Hurricane Center website.
