Congratulations Phi Beta Lamba National Finalists!

Congratulations to the national winners at the Phi Beta Lambda National Leadership Conference (NLC) in San Antonio.

Four students attended nationals and two placed in the Top 10 in the country in their event.

  • Chris Abumohor – 1st place – Business Ethics
  • Madeeha Haryani – 7th place – Financial Services

Chris placed fourth at the state competition, but he was able to advance to nationals because the students who placed first and second were not able to travel to NLC.

“Chris worked really hard on his speech, meeting with me every week since the spring semester ended until we left for competition to practice and then practicing more at the conference,” said Kristy McAuliffe, Phi Beta Lambda advisor. “I’m so proud of Chris and his achievement.”

At NLC he advanced from the preliminary round of 30 students to the final round beating 14 other students to win 1st place in the nation!

Madeeha Haryani obtained an unprecedented achievement at San Jacinto College South Campus.

She has placed in the Top 10 at nationals three years in a row in three different events.

Thank you to everyone for your support of PBL throughout the year. They couldn’t have done this without you!
