SJC AlertMe

In an effort to better communicate with our College community during times of need such as a College emergency, we have added two features to the SJC AlertMe notification system. The first is a mobile app, Send Word Now Direct, to receive critical information through push notifications to your mobile device. The second is weather notifications from the National Weather Service (NWS) via text message and Direct mobile app notifications.

On Wednesday, May 1, at 10 a.m., you should have received an email to your San Jacinto College email account inviting you to download the Send Word Now Direct app. You can access the Apple and Android app stores via our website to download the app to your mobile device. Please note that you must use your San Jacinto College email to login to the Direct app from your smartphone device that you wish to receive push notifications on.

SJC AlertMe has been configured to send employees and students critical weather notifications from the National Weather Service. Notifications are set to be sent between the hours of 7 a.m. and 9 p.m., Monday through Friday. If you have signed up to receive SJC AlertMe messages via text and the Direct mobile app, this is how you will receive these weather notifications.
