Public Auditions for Thornton Wilder’s ‘Our Town’

The San Jacinto College Central Campus Department of Theatre and Film is holding public auditions for Thornton Wilder’s Classic, “Our Town”.

Enrollment in classes is not required

THE PLAY: 1901 to 1913. Grover’s Corners, New Hampshire near Massachusetts. Our Town is a 1938 metatheatrical three-act play by American playwright Thornton Wilder. It tells the story of the fictional American small town of Grover’s Corners between 1901 and 1913 through the everyday lives of its citizens. Considered one of the best written plays in American history!

When: Open to the general public, no registration required! No prepared
materials necessary. Dress to move. Friday, Jan. 15 and Saturday, Jan. 16 at 6 p.m. – Slocomb Auditorium; Rehearsals begin Sunday, Jan. 17.

Where: Powell Arena Theatre, 8060 Spencer Highway, in Pasadena, San Jacinto
College Central Campus.

Needed: Looking to cast 17 men and 7 women. All roles are up for auditions.

Rehearsals: Will begin on Friday, Jan. 17 from 6-10 p.m. The first
performance will be on Wednesday, Feb. 13 and will run through Sunday, Feb. 17.
