    WANTED: Pasadena Holiday Lighted Parade Volunteers 

    San Jacinto College will once again participate in the City of Pasadena Holiday Lighted Parade on Saturday, Dec. 1 at 7 p.m. We are looking for employees and students interested in participating in the parade by riding in the float or walking alongside to hand out candy.

    If you are interested in participating:

    • You must get approval from your supervisor to participate if you are a non-exempt employee.
    • You must provide your own transportation to/from the parade meeting and unloading zones.
    • If you sign up to walk, you must be able to walk the full parade route (Starting at Pansy and Fairmont, proceeding on Fairmont to Watters, then making a U-turn at Watters and proceeding back up Fairmont to Pansy).

    You will need to arrive no later than 5:15 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 1.

    Spots are limited, so please let Amanda Fenwick know if you – or a group of students – are interested in participating!

    San Jacinto College Choir performs for Special Evening With Texas History 

    The San Jacinto College Choir performed for the San Jacinto Museum of History’s 2018 Special Evening With Texas History, Thurs., Nov. 1, honoring journalist and native Houstonian Dan Rather.

    The students sang Happy Birthday to Rather, who turned 86 the previous day, and also performed The National Anthem. After the performance Rather also signed copies of his book What Unites Us.

    Thanksgiving Food Drive 

    The Student Engagement and Activities Thanksgiving Food Drive benefiting the San Jacinto College Food Pantry is ongoing until Monday, Nov. 12. You can turn in your donations to the SEA at C14.100. Contact Central.SEA@sjcd.edu for more information.

    The San Jacinto College South Campus Webb History Club is co-sponsoring a Veteran’s Day event on Sunday, Nov. 11, at 10:30 a.m., at the Battleship Texas State Historic Site to celebrate the 100th anniversary of Armstice Day.     Include Me Workshop – Wednesday, Nov. 7, 2018 

    Career and Accessibility Services would like to invite you to attend their #IncludeMe Workshop on Wednesday, Nov. 7, 2018 from 10 a.m. – 12 p.m at the Central campus, C-1.155. Learn how to request accommodations at San Jacinto College, work with individuals who have a disability or how to transition from college to career.

    If you have class, feel free to come by before or after and join us for conversation.

    We will offer a light lunch and refreshments.
