Join us for TechFest on May 5!

Houston TechFest will hold its first spring conference at San Jacinto College on Saturday, May 5.

Now in its 12th year, TechFest has attracted sponsorship from the likes of Microsoft and Amazon. Founded by software developer Michael Steinberg, TechFest is an annual event for the IT community that focuses on education of existing and emerging technologies. San Jacinto College will also host the regularly scheduled Houston TechFest 2018 in September.

“For many IT professionals, TechFest is their gathering,” said Steinberg. “It’s a wonderful networking event for developers, managers and business owners from across the country.”

Claudio Lassala with Improving, Jay Sawyer with the Houston Dot Net Users Group, and David Walker with Clear Measure and founder of the Tulsa TechFest will be among the guest speakers. Workshop topics will include software development, career development, tips on public speaking, résumé preparation, hiring tips for managers, database tracking, language tracking and augmented reality.

“As a top 5 community college in the nation, we are always looking for ways to bring the very best to our students, and it’s an honor to be hosting the Houston TechFest,” said John Suarez, director of business and professions with the San Jacinto College Continuing and Professional Development division. Suarez added that San Jacinto College will also host SQL Saturday on June 23 at the South Campus. “This has been the third largest IT event of its kind in the nation. Every year, more than 1,000 professionals attend and approximately 50 training and demonstration sessions and visit booths are exhibited by different IT companies and organizations.”
