    Public Information and Subpoenas

San Jacinto College employees are encouraged to review the procedure for handling public information requests. Please know that we cannot accept a subpoena for records via fax. This is especially true when the request is for records that would violate FERPA. Information about subpoenas can be found in the link regarding the public information procedure.

Thank you for your attention to this matter!

Our deepest sympathies go to the friends and family of Larry C. Wilson, who passed away on Wednesday, January 4, 2017, at the age of 74.

Larry Charles Wilson was born November 18, 1942, in Lawrence, Kansas. He battled Myelodysplastic syndrome for many years and then was diagnosed with Leukemia. He passed away peacefully at Cornerstone Hospital on the morning of January 4, 2017.

He was preceded in death by his parents, step-father, and brother. He is survived by his wife of 46 years, Rosario Wilson; children Maricela Lopez and husband Richard, Clara Fontenot and husband Wesley; grandchildren, Madeline Lopez, Lola Lopez, Ender Fontenot, and Mina Fontenot; brother, Jack Bossler and wife Marge; cousins, Pam Mack and Carolyn Wilson.

Larry attended Marquette School in Tulsa, Oklahoma and graduated from Tulsa Central High School in 1961. He received his B.A. from the University of Oklahoma in 1965. Larry served our country as a U.S. Air Force Sergeant from 1965 to 1969, and as an Assistant Field Director at Lackland Air Force Base from 1969 to 1970.

Larry continued his education at the University of Houston and earned his M.A. in History in 1974. He taught at Clear Lake High School, Beverly Hills Intermediate, and San Jacinto College –spanning nearly four decades as an educator – from 1973 to 2010.  He published a book in 1997 titled American Film and the Feminine Ideal: 1895 – 1930.

Larry had a great love for reading and easily instilled that joy in his children and grandchildren by example. It was nearly impossible to see Larry and not see a book somewhere nearby. Larry was a Science Fiction fan and thoroughly enjoyed seeing new movies with his children and grandchildren.

If you were a friend, you knew an outspoken, highly intelligent, confident and caring man with a sarcastic wit and a penchant for conversation. If you were family, you knew all of those things and a man that would always put you ahead of the crowd when you needed assistance. He was a dedicated and loving family man and he will be greatly missed.

Larry worked as a history professor for San Jacinto College from September 1987 until his retirement in December 2010.

A rosary will held at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday, January 10, 2017 at Niday Funeral Home in Houston, TX.

    Niday Funeral Home
    12440 Beamer Road
