Hey, meet Salem Al-Ayyadhi! Our new marketing graphic designer!

Salem2Welcome Salem Al-Ayyadhi, who is our new graphic designer on the marketing team! Salem recently moved from his hometown of Baton Rouge where he worked for his alma mater, Louisiana State University (LSU). He holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Graphic Design.

We just had to ask him some “get to know ya” questions!

Why did you decide to make the big move to Texas?

I have worked at the departmental level in higher education, and felt this was a good career step to design college-wide.

Tell us a bit about yourself!

My graphic design career has been entirely in higher ed. I worked in several units in the Division of Student Life at LSU, including Campus Life and the Student Health Center for the last decade. I served as a professional portfolio reviewer for the American Institute of Graphic Arts (AIGA) New Orleans and mentored student designers. I also received certification through LSU to become a Brand Ambassador, which focuses on brand identity, communication, and design strategies for higher ed.

What do you want people to know about you and what you bring to the College?

I’m excited to work with everyone on campus and help clients bring their ideas to life!

What do you enjoy about working in higher ed, in particular, designing for higher ed?

Helping students achieve their education goals through effective design.

Anything that has surprised you about Houston and Pasadena?

How nice the schools and roads are (I know this is cheesy but it’s true!).

Now that you’ve made the move, what do you look forward to in the city and/or at the College?

Exploring the many things that Houston has to offer as one of the largest cities in the country.
