San Jac cheerleaders help to wrap toys for children during the holidays

San Jac cheerleaders recently teamed up with the Deacons of Deadwood biker group during a marathon Christmas gift wrapping event. The activity served to help wrap more than 400 gifts for children ages 1 to 16.

Each child received a free toy at a dinner in their honor and visited with Santa for a photo opportunity at the Lutheran Intercity Network Council Christmas event in north Houston last weekend.

    And the winner is…

The District office had it’s annual holiday door decorating contest and the 2012 winner is the Purchasing office with their Reindeer Stable door!  Human Resources came in second place with their Santa’s Workshop door!  Congratulations to both departments on spreading holiday cheer!

    Holiday Cheer-ity!

Employees in the District Annex building are definitely in the Christmas spirit this year.

Three of Santa’s helpers, Randi Faust, Sheri Elliott and Patsy Laredo, delivered a trunk full of toys and gifts that were donated by members of the Purchasing, Internal Audit, Auxiliary Services, Payroll, Grants Management and HR departments as part of a Holiday Cheer-ity event.  The gifts were delivered just in time to fill Christmas stockings at the Boys & Girls Harbor in La Porte.

The idea was launched by the staff to show their commitment to our community and selected this charity for its alignment with the College’s vision in supporting and providing opportunities for youth in our local area.

Thank you to all that participated to make Christmas a little brighter for children in our community!
