Literature comes alive at ‘Poetry & Pizza’

The North Campus recently hosted an innovative learning experience — “Poetry & Pizza.”

Students and faculty gathered in the Monument Room for performances of all original student literary works, which included multimedia productions of student poems and essays, students singing original rap songs, and students reading original poetry. During the performances, attendees enjoyed pizza and beverages.

The event was sponsored by the North Campus English department Lit’s Alive club, and the North Campus Student Life office.

Event coordinators include English professors Mark Johnson, Mary Kay Jennings, and Rick Bridwell.

Other faculty and staff who provided assistance include North Campus English department chair Dr. Karen Hattaway, liberal arts administrative assistant Cassy Reid, speech professor Floyd McConnell, and English professors David Idrogo, and Pam Bond.
