Kudos to Dr. Ernest Davila and Marleyn Treviño, who were recent guests on KTRK Channel 13’s Viva Houston television show.
Davila is a paralegal professor at the North Campus, and Marleyn is an honors paralegal graduate of San Jacinto College, and is now a successful paralegal. The professor and graduate did an outstanding job representing the paralegal profession, and representing San Jacinto College on a very high-visibility TV show.
After the show, Davila said he was very proud of how Marleyn conducted herself during the broadcast.
Marleyn said she really enjoyed her very first visit to a television studio. “Even though I was nervous, it was a very interesting and rewarding experience,” she said.

Thanks to Cassandra Reid, administrative assistant at the North Campus, for providing the following info about an upcoming event that may be of interest to San Jacinto College employees.
Cassandra (shown in related photo, far right, first row) is a member of Rocket City Roller Girls, who compete in Roller Derby competitions at the Skate World roller rink in Deer Park. “The majority of our team is either current students, past students, graduates, and/or work(ed) for San Jacinto College,” she said. “I think there may be just 1 or 2 that haven’t been involved with SJC. Some employees have attended a game or two and loved it.”
The Rocket City Roller Girls will host a game at Skate World on July 1. Doors open at 7 p.m. and the game starts at 7:30 p.m. Tickets at the door are $12 per person. Children under 10 are admitted free.
Admission cost to the game will be half price to anyone who provides ID proof of being a teacher, EMT, firefighter, police officer, or military member (or veteran).
The marketing office has a friendly reminder. If your department is ordering apparel, promotional items, or publications that need to be processed this fiscal year, your order will need to be placed by July 27. This will allow time for production, proofing, delivery of goods, and invoicing before the purchasing deadline of Aug. 24.
