It is with great sadness to announce the passing of Tim Morris, son of LeeAnn and Dick Morris.  Tim passed away on November 23 at his home in Bellingham, Washington, after a very brief bout with an aggressive cancer.   He was surrounded by his partner, Maryann Schmitt, his parents, and his sister Ceilidh and nephew Eli of Ashland, Wisconsin.  He is also survived by his grandmothers, Edna Arnold of League City, and Natalie Morris of Denver, as well as beloved aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Tim was born on May 30, 1974 in Clear Lake.  He graduated from Clear Lake High School in 1992 and from Baylor University in 1996.  At the time of his death, Tim was the financial coordinator for Opportunity Council in Bellingham, a community action agency serving low-income people.  It was work in which he took great joy and pride.  Tim loved outdoor adventure — biking, hiking, kayaking, skiing — and was also an avid reader and gardener.

A memorial service is planned for December 12 at 4:00 p.m. at Clear Lake Presbyterian Church, 1511 El Dorado Blvd. 77062 in Clear Lake.  Anyone wishing to remember Tim with a donation is invited to do so through the following Bellingham social service agencies that had special meaning to Tim:  Opportunity Council, Lydia Place, another Bellingham non- profit agency where Maryann works:, or Whatcom Hospice at

LeeAnn is very grateful for the words of comfort and support she has received from SJC colleagues. Dr. LeeAnn Morris is Central Campus Department Chair of College Preparatory English, ESOL, Math, Reading, and Student Succes.
