    Introducing VoIP

Looking for an extension of a fellow San Jac employee? Having trouble with that conference call button? San Jacinto College Information Technology Services unveils the new Voice of Internet Protocol (VoIP) telephones to solve those problems!

The VoIP models will replace employees’ existing telephones and utilize the data network to transfer telephone service throughout the College. Features include voicemail sent to email, conference calling for up to five people, more efficient mechanism for sending automatic notifications for campus emergencies, and an improved campus directory.

Upgrading the SJC phone system was necessary to meet the increased volume of telephone traffic and to provide up-to-date services that the current system is unable to provided. Employees should note that no special skills are needed to answer or make calls using the new telephone model.
