    Think tank

The District Grants Management office is a regular think tank.

Eight out of 11 staff members in the office are pursuing college degrees.

The photo above shows the scholars (left to right), along with their job titles, and the college each one is attending: Stacey Himmel, grants account specialist, University of Houston-Clear Lake; Gloria Ramirez, scholarship accounts specialist, UH-CL; Tomoko Olson, assistant grant director, St. Leo University; Cathy Rau, head grant accountant, San Jacinto College; Matthew Rodgers, accounting intern, UH-CL; Ashley Bounds, administrative assistant, SJC; Gina Aguero, grants account specialist, SJC; and Tiffany Brinks, UH-CL.

Kelly Simons, Assistant Vice President of Resource Development, commended the employees for their hard work and diligence.

“I am so proud of all of you for pursuing your academic interests in associate, bachelor, and masters degree programs,” she said. “Your commitment to our San Jacinto College student success initiatives is enhanced by your commitment to your own success. Keep up the good work and remember, the effort will be worth it in the end.”
