NISOD award winners announced

San Jacinto College recently announced the winners of the 2009-10 National Institute for Staff and Organizational Development Excellence Awards, presented annually to college faculty, administrators, and staff members in recognition of their achievements and dedication to excellence in education.

SJC employees who earned the 2009-10 NISOD Excellence Awards include:

Cristina Cardenas, speech instructor at the South campus;

Larry Holley, campus support leader at the South campus;

Kelly Mizell, biology instructor at the North campus;

Ruben Ramirez, science and math lab supervisor at the Central campus;

Ann Cartwright, science department chair at the Central campus;

Susan Lustick, biology instructor at the North campus;

Linda Nichols, children’s center director at the South campus;

Ann Tate, Center for Excellence in Teaching and Learning director;

Bill Dickerson, director of accounting and financial services;

Laura Martinez, skills training coordinator (Continuing and Professional Development division);

Sean Perrodin, culinary arts instructor at the North campus;

Jeanie Wright, Center for Excellence in Teaching and Learning staff coordinator.

Recipients of the award will be recognized in a special ceremony at the annual NISOD conference to be held in Austin in May.

NISOD emphasizes the importance of teaching and leadership excellence in institutions of higher education. The organization assists teachers and educational staff members through conferences, publications, web services, partnerships, and various programs.
