The men’s soccer team hosted the Houston Dynamo Youth Academy on Sept. 4 at the South campus soccer field. It was the first match under the new lights recently installed at field, and a large crowd of enthusiastic fans turned out for the match.

Teri Fowle, Amanda Booren, Jeannie Peng-Armao, and Rob Vanya from the marketing office were on hand to photograph the event and to give away T-shirts and tickets to a Dynamo game. The South campus office of student life provided snow cones and popcorn.

South campus choral singers, under the direction of Cynthia Stevens, delivered a stirring rendition of the National Anthem.

Congratulations to head soccer coach Dr. David Santesteban, and assistant coaches Ian Spooner and Iñaki Eraña Cassi for a successful season kickoff. The icing on the cake – the San Jac soccer team defeated the Houston Dynamo Youth Academy squad 3-1.
