Special Olympics Texas – Annual Tip-a-Cop Event

Special Olympics Texas is hosting their annual Tip-A-Cop at Texas Roadhouse-Pasadena on Thursday, July 25th from 5 to 9 p.m. located at 3033 E. Sam Houston Parkway.

San Jacinto College Police Department officers will be working in uniform as wait staff earning tips to benefit Special Olympics! The theme is, give a cop a tip and support Special Olympics Texas (SOTX) athletes in your community. During the nationwide fundraiser, highway patrol troopers, police officers, sheriff’s deputies and other Law Enforcement Torch Run (LETR) members will walk around the restaurant with a Special Olympic Athlete and collect tips from patrons who get to hear the athletes tell their courageous stories.

Last year SJCPD officers teamed up with some of the Special Olympic athletes and helped raise over $3,000. We did it while having fun and meeting some great people! The money raised through these charity events goes towards helping the athletes in our region make it to the Special Olympics that is hosted in Arlington, Texas every year. Please stop by and show your support!
