South campus loses one of its brightest educators

The South campus will hold a memorial today at 4 p.m. in honor of Dr. Bahar Sheikh, who passed away last month.

Dr. Sheikh was a chemistry professor at SJCS and first joined the College in 2002 after moving from Kansas. He earned his master’s degree from the University of Karachi and his doctorate from the University of South Hampton.

“Dr. Sheikh put his classes first, above everything else,” said Dr. Ray Crawford. “The students loved him. He was very sincere, a genuinely good person. We are going to miss him very much.”

A tree will be planted in the near future in honor of the professor’s achievements in higher education.
