SJC Student Conference

The South Campus College Preparatory and Student Services Department recently held their first student conference on Oct. 9. 2015. Students were welcomed by keynote speaker, Leonard Geddes, associate dean of co-curricular programs, director of the learning commons at Lenoir-Rhyne University in Hickory, NC, and creator of the LearnWell Projects. The morning was then followed by various breakout sessions on enhancing your soft skills, college and workplace skills, dressing professionally in the workplace, emotional IQ, keys to success in college, information on the Men of Honor and Women of Integrity organizations, professionalism in the workplace, and communication in the workplace. Students also attended a resource fair featuring several College programs and student services including business administration, computer information technology, CPD, industrial technology, student life, real estate, and local business EcoLab Recruiting.
