SJC PTK Summit on Community Colleges

The Alpha Gamma Zeta chapter of Phi Theta Kappa (PTK) at San Jacinto College South is pleased to host the “SJC Summit on Community Colleges,” Friday, Nov. 18 from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m.

The event will include SJC alumni who will share their experiences and stories of their time at San Jacinto College, touching on the value of an associate degree and certifications, and how SJC contributed to their professional success. National executive director of PTK, Dr. Rod Risley, is the honored guest speaker for the event. Other SJC alumni guests who will offer remarks include Harris County Precinct 1 Commissioner El Franco Lee, Snead State Community College president Dr. Robert Exley, and Galveston County Tax Assessor Cheryl Johnson. Students and guests will have the opportunity to ask the panelists questions during a question and answer session, and there will be video presentations featuring alumni interviews. All SJC alumni, students, faculty, and community members are invited to attend. We encourage you and your students to attend this exciting event!

The “SJC Summit on Community Colleges” will take place in the Proscenium Theater inside the Marie Spence Flickinger Fine Arts Center at the South Campus. If you plan to attend, please RSVP to Elizabeth McKinley at Elizabeth.mckinley@sjcd.edu.
