San Jacinto College South presents Carnegie Hall preview concert

The visual and performing arts department at San Jacinto College (SJC) South provided audiences with a ‘glimpse’ of their 2011 Carnegie Hall performance during a recent preview concert.

Cynthia Stevens directed more than 30 singers for “A Glimpse Into the Future,” which featured such old time favorites as “The Water is Wide” and “Danny Boy.”

The concert was held in honor of Marie Flickinger, SJC Board of Trustees Chair, who made a donation toward the group’s May 29, 2011 trip to the famed New York City concert venue. South campus President Dr. Maureen Murphy and vice president of instruction Dr. Toni Pendergrass were also in attendance to enjoy the evening’s event, which was followed with a reception catered by SJC Central campus culinary arts department.
