Students complete landscaping project on Central campus

In conjunction with Earth Day 2010, the Central campus botany students have completed their traditional landscaping project. The SJC grounds crew, under the guidance of Texas certified nurseryman, Jeff Tschappatt, and grounds specialist, Terry Ballard, prepared two large bedding areas at the North entrance face of the Central ILC building. All three botany sections of Professor Barbara Schumacher completed soil testing on both beds including typing and chemical analysis of pH, Phosphorous, Nitrogen, Potassium and humus levels.

Students measured the bed dimensions, placed and planted the selected plants, and completed the project with finishing mulch. Specific information about each planting aspect and answers pertaining to the students report packet were provided by Jeff Tschappatt.
