Bank of America continues to support San Jacinto College with an “Energy Education and Career Corps (EE&CC) Internship 2016 grant for the Engineering Design Graphics program. This is the third year that Bank of America will award twelve Engineering Design Graphics Internship students a $1650.00 stipend to help support them while working at different Houston area energy industry companies.

One of Bank of America’s funding priorities is workforce development and education, helping connect individuals to employment opportunities and contributing to community economic growth.
The Internship students complete 288 hours working in a drafting or engineering-related job to earn college credit for the work-based learning experience. The students also participate in career preparation classes covering financial literacy, job search strategies, employer networking, business etiquette, resumes, and career counseling. This is a priceless opportunity for the students to acquire workplace skills while in college and beneficial to the energy industry employers. In addition, these industry partnerships create an invaluable perspective in pursuing the skills and knowledge being sought by industry. Employers have commented that these interns learn at a fast pace, are very dependable, stay on task, and exceed expectations.

The new Energy Education and Career Corps internship cohort will be chosen later this Spring.
