Toastmasters Club Forming on Central Campus

Do you want to improve your communications skills and gain more confidence speaking to groups?  Since 1924 Toastmasters International has helped over 4 million people become more confident speakers and leaders.  If you will be interviewing for jobs, Toastmasters will prepare you for job interviews and for the business world.  Toastmasters will be able to help students where English is a second language.  If you are faculty members, Toastmaster will help you make your classes more exciting and dynamic.

A Toastmasters meeting is a learn-by-doing workshop in which participants hone their speaking and leadership skills in a no pressure atmosphere.  A typical group has 20 to 40 members who meet weekly, bi-weekly or monthly.  A typical meeting lasts 60 – 90 minutes.  There is no instructor.  Instead, meeting participants give impromptu talks on assigned topics, conduct meetings, and develop leadership skills, and hone their skills related to timekeeping, grammar and parliamentary procedure.

On, we are having a meeting to explore the feasibility of forming a new Toastmasters Club here at the Central campus:

Time:     4:00 – 5:00 PM

Place:    Building 1 (formerly the ILC) in Room C1.109

There will be district representatives from Toastmasters International to explain the benefits of joining and answer your questions.
