North campus hosts African-American Read-in

In conjunction with Black History Month, the North campus recently hosted the second annual African-American Read-in, an entertaining and inspirational event that showcased selected well-known works of African-American literature and poetry.

With a theme of “African-American Milestones,” the show featured oral presentations, live jazz music, singing and dance routines. Performers for the event included San Jacinto College students, faculty, and staff members, with a special guest performance by young dancers from the Rhodes School, a local fine arts magnet charter school.

Dr. Allatia Harris, North campus president, introduced the program and greeted guests with a warm welcome.
