Reception held to honor Dr. Gary Friery and Don Clayton

The North Campus recently hosted a reception to honor longtime educators Dr. Gary Friery and Don Clayton, who will retire in August. Dr. Friery, the North Campus dean of business and technology, and Clayton, diesel technology lead instructor, have a combined 71 years in education.

Chancellor Dr. Brenda Hellyer thanked Dr. Friery and Mr. Clayton for their years of faithful leadership, dedication, and professionalism, and for always focusing on student success.

A large group of co-workers, friends, and relatives were on hand to express their gratitude to the two veteran educators, and to wish them well.

Kudos to those who helped to coordinate the reception, including Rita Harris, Mary Cherry, Donna Matthews, Emily Garcia, Shawna Williams-Salinas, and James Jones.

North Campus culinary arts students, under the direction of Tim Banks, provided outstanding culinary treats during the reception.
