Congratulations to a great baseball team

The College’s baseball team recently finished another successful season, emerging as the undefeated Region XIV champion before finishing as the national runner-up at the JUCO World Series in Grand Junction, Colorado.

A group of employees and fans from the community staged a welcome back and congratulations get-together for the team recently in the Monument Room of the North Campus.

North Campus President Dr. Allatia Harris asked the players to write sticky-note messages about what they learned from their coaches, from each other, and what they learned this year as SJC students. Dr. Harris expressed appreciation to Head Coach Tom Arrington, and assistant coaches DJ Wilson, Jimmy Durham, Kory Koehler, Jason Krug, and Matt Coburn. She also thanked Shawn Silman, North Campus dean of liberal arts, who accompanied the team to the national tournament and provided valuable assistance, as well as Amanda Booren, director of communications and publications, who coordinated valuable media coverage throughout the season.

Coaches, staff members, and fans expressed their appreciation to the student athletes for their hard work and determination during the long and challenging season.

Chancellor Dr. Brenda Hellyer told the coaches and players how proud the San Jacinto College community was for their accomplishments.

Congratulations to the baseball team and coaching staff for a truly outstanding season!
