Kudos to Amy Ammerman, North campus dean of enrollment, who did an outstanding job in her role as Mrs. Bucket in the recent showing of Willy Wonka, performed by the Central campus theatre and film department.

Amy was truly phenomenal in a role that entails challenging acting, and also features an important song solo. After the show, someone commented: “You really have excellent acting and singing talent. You must have been a drama major at some point when you attended college.” Amy’s simple response: “No, not a drama major, just a drama queen.”

Congrats also to Richard Turner, drama instructor at the Central campus, who was outstanding doing double duty as the show’s costume designer, and who also played the role of Slugworth.

Dr. Jerry Ivins, director; Curt Meyer, technical director; and Molly Vernon, video coordinator; and every cast and crew member are to be greatly commended for all their hard work and dedication. Willy Wonka was a truly top-notch, professional performance and you all deserve a standing ovation.
