Clare Iannelli named North campus Dean of Student Development

Clare Iannelli

Congratulations to Clare Iannelli, who was recently named Dean of Student Development at the North campus.

Clare’s trademark is her enthusiasm for San Jacinto College and her job. “What sets SJC apart is that we take the extra step, and go the extra mile in our service to students,” she commented. “There is nothing more gratifying than hearing students say they love the service they receive, and that they feel understood and prepared to complete their educational goals. We exist for the students, and they are why we do what we do every day.”

Clare began working for the College as a counselor at the North campus in 2001. In 2006 she was promoted to lead counselor. In July 2009 she was selected Interim Dean of Student Development for the North campus.

She holds a bachelor’s degree in psychology from the University of Saint Thomas, and a master’s in counseling psychology from the University of Houston.

Clare does plenty of multi-tasking in her new roles as Dean of Student Development, overseeing the work of division managers and programming for 45 personnel in four departments:

• Counseling and Advising Center

• TRIO programs (PASE/Student Support Services and Upward Bound)

• Career nad Employment Office

• Student Life Office

She also serves as the North campus discipline coordinator. “In addition, there are larger initiatives that my team and I oversee, including New Student Orientation and the First Year Experience Calling Program,” she said. “I also still utilize my Banner advising knowledge to assist with the triage and academic advising processes during the peak registration months.”

Please welcome Clare Iannelli as the North campus Dean of Student Development.
