    Police Department Appreciation Luncheon 

    The San Jacinto College Police Department hosted an employee appreciation luncheon on June 7, 2019 for Police employees and their families.

    There was food, fun games, and prizes.

    During the event, Chief Bruce Caldwell thanked police employees for all their tireless efforts and presented the awards for Officer of the Year, Telecommunicator of the Year, and Administrative Professional of the Year for their outstanding contributions during the period April 2018-March 2019.

    Police Officer of the Year was awarded to Sgt. LeAnderay Collins.

    Telecommunicator of the Year was awarded to LaSundra Scroggins.

    Administrative Professional of the Year was awarded to Sandra Alaniz.

    Teri Zamora, Vice Chancellor of Fiscal Affairs, presented the Police Department with a thin blue line Police flag handmade by her son-in-law who is a Firefighter at Dallas Fire Department-hazmat unit. She also thanked the Police Department for their service and dedication to the College. The flag is proudly displayed in our Central Campus Police Department lobby.

      Congratulations to the outstanding officers and especially to Sandra Alaniz! Looks like you had lots of fun that day also. That checkerboard looks like it would be difficult to do multiple jumps. Ha ha!

    Congratulations, Michelle Cantu-Wilson! 

    Michelle Cantu-Wilson graduated from the University of Houston-Clear Lake on May 19, 2019 with a doctorate degree in higher education leadership. Michelle is a College Prep faculty member at Central campus.

    June 2019 Board Meeting Recognitions 

    The San Jacinto College Board of Trustees recognized representatives from the College-wide Literary Magazine, Accents.

    Board members, Marie Flickinger and Larry Wilson were also reinstated and took an oath of office.
