Fencing is new this Fall through Life Long Learning!

Fencing is a new Life Long Learning course offering this Fall! Rich in history, popularized by Hollywood, and honored as an Olympic sport, foil fencing is an exciting (and safe!) strategic sport that exercises the body and mind. All class sessions focus on bladework, footwork, attacks and retreats, and include free fencing and bout time. Instructor John Trojanowski is a competitive fencer and USFA referee who teaches all ages and levels of fencers – from beginners who don’t know a coupé from a parry, to more experienced fencers who are looking to hone their skills and compete in tournaments. Fencing I (CRN 50784) begins August 28.  Register online or call (281) 542-2020.

      Gary,

It was great working with you on the various committees. Your input was always insightful and student focused. I cannot imagine the number of lives you have touched while serving at San Jac. It was a distinct honor and pleasure to work with you and I wish you well in your next chapters.

      Warm regards,

      Neil

      Hey “Gair”–

I enjoyed working with you, and am gratefull that you took a chance on hiring me and bringing me from the W. Texas desert, to Houston. I think we did great work together, and a lot of students’ lives are different because of the programs you helped establish here at North. Enjoy your retirement and listen for those rattlers (that’s one thing I don’t miss about W. Texas).

      Be well,
      J.D.

New Faculty Academy Blitz at Central Campus

New faculty hires recently attend the annual New Faculty Academy Blitz at Central Campus library this week. Current faculty and administrators also stopped by to talk about their roles at the College, and to explain basic College faculty processes and procedures.  The five-day Blitz included a welcome by Dr. Hellyer, meet and greet with other College faculty, tour of the campus, presentations on various services and SOPs, and even played roles in the Achieving the Dream game. EdTech also provided several hours of hands-on training for the new faculty participants.
