    Low-cost pet vaccinations coming to San Jacinto College 

    September 2013_SJC World Rabies Day-Wisgirda

    The San Jacinto College South Campus natural sciences department will host its sixth annual World Rabies Day event, offering low-cost pet vaccinations, on Saturday, Sept. 21.

    San Jacinto College science faculty and Texas-licensed veterinarian Adam Eiler, and Dr. Susan Pickle of the Alvin-Friendswood Veterinary Clinic, will provide several vaccinations for dogs and cats at a reduced rate to the community.

    The World Rabies Day pet vaccination event will be held Saturday, Sept. 21 at the San Jacinto College South Campus, from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m., in the Academic Wing – North (building 7) in rooms S7.124 and S7.128. Owners can check in their pets at the registration desk located in the P6 parking lot directly outside the vaccination rooms. All pets should be in carriers or on a leash.

    Vaccination fees are as follows: dogs – rabies, $10; distemper/parvo, $15; bordetella, $15. Cats – rabies, $10; distemper (FVRCP), $15; leukemia, $15. No additional veterinary services will be offered. Cash only accepted. All proceeds will benefit local animal rescue and rehabilitation facilities.

    Central Campus wellness schedule:

    4:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m.

    Just Get Moving (Mialani Miller)
    (Variety class with Pilates, Resistance Training, Aerobics)
    Wednesdays
    4 p.m. to 5 p.m.

    Weight Room—
    Monday through Thursday
    2:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m.
    Friday availability 2:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m.

    AAWCC wants YOU! 

    Welcome back! We are gearing up for another exciting AAWCC year here at San Jacinto College. As chapter president for 2013-2014, I hope you’ll join us by renewing your membership, and encourage your colleagues to join as well. The membership form can be found online at internal.sanjac.edu/node/6154. We’re looking at the possibility of hosting a regional conference this year, so we’ll be looking for your input and assistance with that project, and we’re working on another great lineup of informational meetings.
