ITS provides guest and secured wireless access for the San Jacinto College community. Users can access wireless from most locations across each campus. Connection to secured wireless requires a College network username and password.

Employees and students are also welcome to utilize mobile devices on any College campus. ITS currently provides support to users for connection to SJC Email and to connect to available wireless networks across the College.

Wireless Access

SJCD-Guest Wireless
SJCD-Guest provides wireless access for the San Jacinto College community. It is available to the general public for use and provides no more than basic Internet access. Users can obtain connection instructions by clicking on the link below.
Connecting to SJCD-Guest Wireless

SJCD-Secure Wireless
SJCD-Secure provides secured wireless access for all San Jacinto College employees and students. It is not available to the general public for use and requires an SJC login for access. When connected, this wireless services provides the same access as wired connections. Users can obtain connection instructions by clicking on the link below.

Mobile Device Support

ITS understands that Customers use personal technologies for remote or mobile access to College resources and supports BYOD (Bring Your Own Device) initiatives. Limited support is currently provided for mobile devices as it pertains to connection to available College resources; such as wireless access and email configuration. As per current support guidelines regarding BYOD support:

  • ITS is not responsible for troubleshooting and repairing hardware or software on personally owned equipment. While ITS personnel may be able to provide recommendations, users should defer questions and requests for technical assistance to the device vendor.
  • ITS will provide configuration steps and basic troubleshooting for access to San Jacinto College services; however, no support or repair will be provided in the event that hardware or software is the cause of a failed connection.
  • Personal devices must have minimum virus protection software installed when connecting to secured College services; such as SJC-Secured wireless.

Please be aware that, while we will make every effort to ensure successful connection to College services, ITS cannot guarantee that personal devices, will operate when accessing College resources due to personal configurations, network access, and conflicts due to software installations or other unknown issues.
