Sky Advanced Threat Protection

Cyber security involves protecting the information and systems we rely on every day. The increasing volume and sophistication of cyber security threats and increasing internet bandwidth needs, demand that we remain vigilant about securing our systems and information. The College has several safeguards in place to protect us from these growing threats. As an additional level of security, ITS is replacing our current cyber security system with Sky Advanced Threat Protection (Sky ATP).

Sky ATP uses real-time information to provide the College with anti-malware protection and defend against persistent threats and ransomware. Should an SJC-issued computer or personal computer on our wired network become infected, Sky ATP will block access to the Internet.

When Sky ATP alerts Tech Support that an SJC-issued computer has a known cyber security threat, Tech Support will contact the employee assigned to the specified computer. A ticket will be created to address the known threat. If an employee notices that they are unable to access an external web page, service, or Office 365 email, please contact Tech Support at x6137 for further troubleshooting.
