Information security is critical to the life of San Jacinto College. Each day, threats are committed against institutions of higher education. It is important for college employees to learn how to protect their computers, their network accounts, and their data by taking a security awareness course online.
Thanks to the joint efforts between Jennifer Ramsey, Learning Technology Manager, and ITS, San Jacinto College is excited to launch information security education in the “Securing the Human” virtual learning environment. Securing the Human is an online security awareness program created by the SANS Institute. The program has been designed to not only inform employees of their responsibilities as members of the San Jacinto College community, but to also assist them in securing their information at home. The short and informative videos cover HIPAA and FERPA standards as well as important topics such as Email & Messaging and Data Security.
The following SANS online training sessions are now available in Spark Learning:

|ITST 1204 – SANS: Securing the Human – Leadership (Web-Based)|
Please log into Spark to access the training modules listed above. At the end of each video, you will be asked to take a test and once completed successfully, you will be able to move on to the next video. Employees will receive a certificate when the modules have been completed.
