Update – March 9, 2018

on March 9, 2018 in Weekly Update

Good Morning San Jacinto College Community,

I hope you are loving this wonderful Friday and I hope each of you is ready for a relaxing Spring Break!

Before you head off for the break, I wanted to let you know that we have submitted the College’s ten-year reaffirmation of accreditation self-study report to SACSCOC (Southern Association of Colleges and Schools, Commission on Colleges).  Many, many people across the institution helped with researching, writing, inputting, and submitting the report.  Thank you to those who worked on this important documentation of our work over the past ten years, in the context of the SACSCOC standards and principles set for us as an institution of higher education.

The report will be reviewed over the next two months by an off-site team who will provide feedback on the report.  They may have questions or recommendations for us to address by the time the on-site team visits us in the fall.  Please mark your calendars for these dates for the on-site visit: October 30 to November 1, 2018During this time a team of evaluators will visit the College, interview employees, and assess our responses to the standards and principles.  At the end of the visit, they may have questions or recommendations for us which will be addressed in a separate report.

You can access the full report at SACSCOC 2019 Compliance Report. If the link does not work directly, you may open the compliance report by opening the “LaunchWebsite.html” link in G:\SACSCOC 2019 Compliance Report. The full report, if printed, is approximately 540 pages and contains nearly 8,000 links. I would say read it online!

As you read our self-study, I hope you will be proud of the work we have done together and how well we maintain the high standards set for us by our regional commission, SACSCOC.  This report illustrates your work and commitment to San Jacinto College and our students!  Thank you!

Enjoy your break and be safe!
