Good Evening San Jacinto College Community,

At tonight’s Board of Trustees meeting, the Board approved a new simplified tuition model that will go into effect with the Fall 2019 semester. This new model eliminates registration and enrollment-related fees to provide a simpler tuition structure that will make it easier for students to calculate the cost of their classes without additional fees added during the registration process.

The simplified tuition model is based on a tuition rate per semester credit hour and is charged at registration based on the student residency classification, again, with no added fees.

Good Afternoon San Jacinto College Community,

I hope you are loving this wonderful weather!  It’s hard not to have spring fever right now. I also know what a busy time this is for all of us and for our students, but there are four important items I wanted to address at this time: Golf Course Closure, Tuition and Fee Changes for Fall 2016, Mandatory Password Changes, and Pathways Work.

Golf Course Closure:

Effective December 15, 2016, the San Jacinto College golf course located at the Central Campus will permanently close. Three full-time employees and five part-time employees support the operations, and they have been notified of the closure and a transition plan is in place for them. Read the rest of this entry »

Good Afternoon San Jacinto College Community –

Happy New Year!  It has been a busy first week of January!

Many of you have heard that last night and today, President Obama unveiled his America’s College Proposal for two years of free community college education to responsible students.  It is exciting that the president continues to stress the important role that community colleges plays in the life of students and the future of our country.  Like any proposal to help our students, we are anxiously awaiting additional details. Good Morning –

April is here and that means spring fever! I hope you are finding a few minutes each day to enjoy the weather.

In this update I want to highlight three items from the Board of Trustees Meeting held this past Monday, March 31, 2014.

1.      Increase in the semester credit hour tuition rates were approved. Beginning fall 2014:

  • In-district tuition rate will be $47
  • Out-of-district tuition rate will be $89
  • Non-resident tuition rate will be $142
