This is a reminder from San Jacinto College. San Jacinto College remains closed through Monday, September 4, 2017, due to the heavy rains and immense floods affecting Southeast Texas. The first day of classes is Tuesday, September 5. We understand that our students, employees and communities have been affected by this devastating flood event, and we want to allow time for them to recover from Tropical Storm Harvey.

Through September 4, 2017, all San Jacinto College campuses will remain closed. No one should be on campus during this time.

Since we have postponed the start of the semester, students are able to register and pay for fall classes online through September 11. After September 5, payment will be required on the day of registration. Registration is open for Take 2 classes that begin September 11.

Due to end of year processing, SOS access will be disabled beginning at noon on Thursday, August 31. It will be accessible again starting at 2 a.m., on Friday, September 1. Students will not be able to register or pay for classes during this brief down period.

Any communication regarding the weather and the impact it may have on College operations, including class schedules and fall registration, will be distributed through email, and SJC AlertMe will be activated. Information will also be provided on the College website, on the emergency notification line at 1-888-845-5288, and through the College’s official Facebook and Twitter accounts. Students are reminded to log in to your SJC Alert Me account and verify that your contact information is correct.

Please continue to monitor the forecast and have an individual plan for flooding for you and your families. Do not drive through flooded roadways. We want you to be safe and to take care of yourselves and your families. Please stay safe and heed the guidance and warnings of local authorities.
